constipation and lower bloating; dull pain right side :-(

Hi all,

This is my first time on this site but I am having the same issues as everyone else. I am hoping someone can give me some kind words. I have had really really bad constipation and finally went to my gastro doc. He did an xray which showed poop was everywhere! I did fleet for 2 days but still felt really bloated. also noticed a pain (kinda like a muscle cramp) on my lower right side. that seems to be where the bloating it too.  this never went away and it seemed like the more i ate, the worse i felt. the doc i was seeing was so useless that i ended up flying to VA for a second opinion. I saw my moms doc and he ordered a CT with contrast. of course this didnt show any poop or cysts. still though, i am sure this is an ovarian cyst. my per is several weeks late and i am not preggers (just feel and look like it). does anyone else have that strange pain on the lower right side? Its worse when i cough and it kills when i push down on it.

Thanks!!!

i agree with the above and only add that the other possibilities can be quickly fatal (appendicitis, aortic distention etc ) ... press ur belly buttom ... does that illicit pain ?? also is there constant pain in ur shoulder?? can u stand on one foot ??/ these other pains rule out other causes ... are u menopausal ?? thats another important clue
but please get a transvagial ultrasound ordered to rule out the cysts and scary stuff
if ur pain increases or u start bleeding heavily (1 pad an hour) or ur stools start to smell really bad and are practically uncontrollable or loose ... please go to the er
keep us posted
love

A transvaginal ultrasound can also tell if you have an ectopic pregnancy.  The hormones are not strong on an ectopic so it is very possible to have a negative pregnancy test.  Please get this checked out.

I meant " I would ask if you've seen a gyn?"

I would as first have you seen a Gyn and had a Tv/Us? This is the first test a gyn does if a cyst is suspected, as well as doing an internal exam. You didn't mention how old you are, as in younger women cysts are quite common. I think it would be a good idea to make an appointment with one and have a complete evaluation.
You know your body, and you should not be having pain, so you need to find a doctor that will find out what's going on with you. There are a lot of things that you could possibly have, but as you've seen a gastro, I wonder has he ruled out IBS, hernia, appendix?
I'm sorry I can't give you a definite answer, but the forum is not a place for diagnostic purposes.
The kind of pain you have could be a cyst, but it could be something else. Get the copies of the tests you have had done already and bring them to a gyn, that's the first thing I'd tell you to do.If you are severe pain then you should go to an ER because if you have a cyst that has burst or if you have appendicitis, it needs to be addressed.
Good luck and let us know how you made out.
Valerie
