I went on a buisness tripp for work. All the guys decide to go to a strip bar and I joined in. Please no lectures as I know i have made a very bad judgement call here. When I received a lapdance the girl fondeled her virgina exsiting it. As she was touching me I leaned back closed my eyes and opened my mouth. She then placed her fingers in my mouth this was unexpected I thought I was just going to enjoy a grind session. Ok i freaked out and went to the bathroom and washed my mouth. Drunk and not remembering much I think i swallowed before i made it to the bathroom. I rinsed and then went home and washed my mouth with listerine, brushed my teeth and even swished with more alchohol. (dont think this helped.) 2 weeks have passed and my lips seem to look different a line under them lookinng alot like a rash. I have a slight fever about 99.5 my skin is begingin to itch all over and to make matters worse I have developed a red pin head dot on my finger it hurts pretty bad when touched or rubbed. Pretty sure i didnt do that a work. On my stomach i have developed itchiness and a small bump filled with white fluid. Ok but what really concerenes me is my lips i developed a small bump almost like large pimple but doesnt hurt and no fluid is present as of yet. My lips dont look normal the way i have always seen them they seem to have a rash under the lower lip. I have gone in for testing and I am awaiting results. Please can some help me and provide some info im going crazy. On my first day back simptonless I had sex with my wife and now im scared for us both.

I don't know enough about cipro's long term effects to really comment, but most allergies would subside quickly after no exposure.

We have a new ask a pharmacist forum here - they might be able to help.

Have you had a SED rate test done?  That looks for inflammation, and might be a start in diagnosing.  Or seeing an allergist?  They can do testing and see if they can find the cause.

Hey Aj figured out whats wrong with me. Every docotor I go to says I have an allergy. itching all over, skin on fire and you know the rest. After 3 doctors telling me i have an allergy i began to wonder to what? I never had an allergy to anything. the only thing I have taken different from my regular regiment was CIPRO. The first doctor i went to gave me this when I told him the whole stripper thing. Never in a million years would i have blamed the Cipro. In the begining it was my anxiaty that led me to the doctor but what has come now is no longer anxiaty i have rashes muscle aches all over. after so many Dr.s telling me it was an allergy i thought i would check online perhaps its the cipro. Bingo It has symptoms of allergic reaction. I brought it up to my doctor and now because i over reacted about the STD thing he thinks im nuts. Im scared to take anything but the allegra 180 mg daily. Ok heres my question have you ever heard of this before and if so do you know how long these symptoms could last? I dont want to freak out over what ive been reading online that was my mistake the first time. I finished the Cipro over 2 months ago still have simptoms. Oh and yes all STD tests continue to come back negative.  Any info would help thank you.

Hey Aj its been some time since I last posted and I wanted to get back with you. My 6 week test results for HIV came back negative. I know that this isnt a 100% possitive that I didnt contract HIV but with the low to no risk situation I was in. I am sure I did not contract anything. I have resumed most of my life. My therapist has diagnosed me with OCD I never thought I had anything  but I guess they finally found something! Your online diagnoses was right on with me. I am sure my 3 moth test will results will be negative as well. I guess this has all just been in my mind. I do have to say that my mind still comes back to haunt me. Every little patch of dry skin or pimple and the hairs on the back of my neck stand up. I breath for a bit and have to remind myself that this is most likely normal and it has probably happened before and I never noticed it. plus it was mentioned that stress can cause some skin problems so I cool myself down. AJ I thank you for being a voice of sound reasoning through out my nightmare here. I know to some people my story sounds simple and even laughable. It seems so big to me though!  feelings of eminent DOOM seem to race through my mind since this all happened. Aj all along you have been giving me calm and sound advice. I just want to thank you for that again.  I just got a message on my cell phone from my doctor's nurse and she just said HSV 1&2 negative results on IGG and IGM repeat test. (It was a repeat test of the one that came  equivocal.) You said that would happen and you were right. You advised that i talk to someone and I am and it is helping. I go for my six week HIV test next week. I am still a little scared but I am counting on your track record and Gods help that it will come negative. By the way the counceling is helping some thank you for suggesting it. I hope i dont go crazy again later and put another message of help. For now im am feeling better though.

Guys I am almost in tears here! Yes I am scared but my fear is caused by physical symptoms as they subside so does my fear. These darn symptoms wont go away. Upset stomach for over a week. nausea, tingeling in arms, burning thighs, soar throat for about 2 weeks, itching and rashes for weeks. white coated toung that in the morning I can sometimes pull spider web things from. think this is candida. I have lost 15 lb since this incident. The only reason im scared is because these seem like symptoms of an initial HIV infection. I have spoken to a councelor she is trying to evaluate if these symptoms are from stress. Guys I dont think so. I sleep a few hours and then wake up feeling sick. I try to act normal but I dont feel it. the week of september 1st will make six weeks I will test again then. guys tell me your thoughts they usually help me. Could it be that im the 1 in a million sucker to get HIV this way?

I have read through your posts. I want to tell you: you had zero risk. For HIV and all STDs for all practical purposes. I have been through similar worries after non risk exposures (see my posts). I am a trained academic, holding a PhD, not in medicine though. But I couldn`t come over my fears with all intellect. Your problem are your emotions, feelings of guilt and anxiety. You have 2 possibilities from here: 1) Forget this and move on! 2) If you can`t, seek counseling. Once you succeed with one of the alternatives you will have your life back.

after having nightmares all night I have decided to seek out a councelor for my troubles. I have an appointment for Thursday. My GP and infectouse d. doctor seem to think this is anxiaty. You have mentioned it as well and I guess I ll try therapy see if the symptoms go away. I hope your all right and im just going crazy. To ease my mind I have posted on the hiv forum and anxiaty forum see if any others have gone thru this. Thanks AJ

We don't cover (or aren't supposed to be covering) HIV, but I will say this - your symptoms aren't ARS.  First, they are vague, and you aren't going to get HIV this way.

Those symptoms can be brought on by stress.

Have you considered talking to anyone about this?  My post makes 45, and you didn't even do anything that's risky.  Since you are this anxious, it might be time to talk to someone.

AJ I have a question. Cna deep anxiaty cause symptoms that seem like an initial hiv infection. I know you said that there is possibly no way I could have contracted HIV but my mind keeps going around in circles thinking that I may have contracted HIV.  question 1. Is my test r24/dna pcr test a good indicator at 17 days after possible exposer?  (it was all negative) is it at least 75% good?
question 2. My symptoms are upset stomach, loss of appetite, loss of sleep, soar throat, night sweats, tingeling in both arms at night and what seems like oral thrush. My toung in the morning is coated white and all that i taste is waxy. this is on top of the others. I will agree with my doctors that my anxity level seems very high that is why I ask. Going again tomorrow to meet with my doctor. Who still thinks i have herpes after the test said unsure. Aj I need more of your sound advice.thank you

This isn't herpes, but I don't know what it is.

It really could be anxiety, but you should get a urine test done to see if there is any bacteria in your urine.

Keep in mind that any genital symptoms you have are not related to this incident.  You had no genital exposure.  You just can't have gotten an std from this situation.

hey AJ I have a general feeling of malice. The doctor keeps telling me its anxiaty but I keep developing these small bumps in different parts of my body. They are small and are hard to spot. I show them to the doctor but he says they are nothing. These things hurt but the pain goes away but the spot stays.they almost look like a small cancer sore. I have a back pain that does not seem to be muscle related it feels like my kidneys. I am still itchy and it burns when I urinate. I am tiered all the time. Something is wrong. I never felt all these things until that tripp. What could this be. My doctors dont seem to be catching it. Look i know its easy to relate this to anxiaty becuase its an easy call. I swear thst this is not just anxiaty all this stuff hurts, my bumps on my lip havent gone away, i have had a sore throat for almost 2 weeks , it burns when i urinate, I feel slow and sickly, my skin itches in diffent spots, My legs feel hot all the time. Please any help

OK last time.  You can not get HIV this way.

All these articles are talking about actual oral sex.  You didn't have that.

I know im jumping around here. I read this article on HIV and since this contact im still in the window period to be 100% sure I didnt get it. I know the risk is very low as stated before. She may not have had HIV at all. I did read though that people with HSV2 Contract and spread HIV more often because there risk factors are higher. I also got an article here that states that there seems to be no real cases documented on contracting HIV to exposer to vaginal fluid. This means I have a very good chance of not having HIV right? Sorry but the internet can be very scary because I read some of the symptoms of initial HIV infection and they seemed like mine.

Oral sex (mouth-penis, mouth-vagina): The risk from oral sex is very minimal as the mouth is an inhospitable environment for HIV, for several reasons. Saliva contains enzymes that break down the virus; also, the skin of the mouth is sturdier than in the anus or vagina. There are, however, a few documented cases where it appears that HIV was transmitted orally. These cases are all attributed to ejaculation in the mouth (i.e., exposure to semen, not exposure to vaginal fluid or pre-seminal fluid).

Sorry just a little scared and you seem the best person to talk to about all this. Thank you for the sholder to lean on.

Herpes doesn't work the way you think it does.  It won't go into such a deep sleep that being exposed again would waken it.

You also wouldn't get herpes from this exposure.  Lets not forget that fact.  You certainly wouldn't get hsv2.

ok, AJ Ill say im negative and will await another test to be sure. I do have a thought and its only info seeking. what if I had aquired HSV2 a long time ago and was living the whole time not knowing it. Would the levels on the IGG possibly be higher? I have another question what if the stripper had HSV2 and when I had contact with her fluids it did not infect me it just woke up the old virus in my body. Or could this just be my first real beginigns of an out break after living with it so long. Now this is all just for info since  I think Ill be negative on my next test per what you stated last time. ( theres  good chance of that ) Now for many years  I have had urinary tract infections or maybe thats what i thought they were. Or maybe this is the worst allergy i have ever had.  update on my symptoms itchy skin, all over, burning when I urinate, bumps on lip for over 2 weeks have  not bursted or gotten any larger. (thats why dont think its hepes) One of the bumps feels big on my lip but does not look any larger. my doctor thinks this is all from hyves and has changed my medicine. Ill report back if it helps.

I said this twice - most equivocals come back as negative.

Hives and anxiety aren't from an std.  Your anxiety could be causing your hives.  If you need help dealing with it, talk to your doctor.

A J I understand. Ill breath some now. Ok, do you know if  it is comon for tests that are equivocal to come back negative?  The doctor that told me I was HSV2 postive was the infectous d. doctor. I figured she knew her stuff. I mean this is all she looks at all day. I did look up the word equivocal and it says uncertain indication. Have you seen this before where they come in like this and then there negative? I have some guilt yes but my body hasnt felt the same since all this started. Everyone tells me its anxiaty and stress from this issue. My family DR. told me that the test means its such a low result that the virus is probably dormant from my body fighting it so many years. AJ I really hope your right. You seem to know your stuff! I am going to ask for another test in a couple of months to see what it says. And yes I do have tons of anxiaty but its because my body doesnt seem 100% The family doctor said that the hyves and the anxiaty are all my problems at this time. OK sit, breathe and listen to me, ok?  I'm serious - take a big deep breath and FOCUS.

You don't even have a positive test result.  If you notice, it says anything below .90 is negative, and anything above 1.10 is positive.  That means that anything between .91 and 1.09 is equivocal.  That means they can't call it negative, and they can't call it positive.  Your .95 is in that range.

The huge majority of equivocal tests come back negative.  You probably don't have it.  If you do, you certainly didn't get it from the stripper.  It simply isn't transmitted that way.

Are you still breathing and focusing?  Stay with me here.

You have a choice of what to do now.  You can wait, and get another test in a couple of months, or not even bother since you can't get herpes from this.  Let that sink in.  You can't get herpes from this.

I know you feel guilt, but you need to get ahold of yourself.  

And your doctor is so wrong, on so many levels.  You aren't definitely infected with herpes, this doesn't show anything that can tell you that you are or aren't.  You don't know any more today than you did yesterday, in effect.

And IF it were positive - and it isn't - there is no way that this blood test can tell you how long you've had it.  All it does is look for certain antibodies, and those antibodies can develop as soon as 3 weeks following an infection.  It can't tell you if you developed them 3 weeks prior, or 3 years prior.

AJ you have been a God send thru this whole thing. Thank you for coming back with a responce every time. Here is what the test states HSV1 & 2 IGM TEST RESUL < 1:10 (TITER< 1:10 = negative)" this came back negative. "

HSV1 = 0.04    REFERANCE RANGE < 0.90
HSV2 =  H 0.95  REFERANCE RANGE <0.90
<0.90 = NEGATIVE
1.10  POSITIVE

My family doctor explained that if the igg is posotive it dispalys an old infection maybe some thing I got when I was a kid. He also said the range is so small that this may be a negative result and or a mistake. If this were because of the recent event, that my IGM would have come posotive as well. The doctor at the infectious d. at the hospital said yes you are defenatly infected with simplex 2 genetal herpes. She also said that this may be an old virus that I did not become infected recently and I may have had it all along.  I explained that really, no lies, no fakes my wife and I really havent had many partners we met and married when we were kids I have never strayed besides that strip bar and its the closes thing I have come to another women. My wife I doubt she is lying I trust her and she says I have been the only man she slept with. (this isnt a macho thing we met in 8th grade and have been in love ever since!) we have never shown signs of any herpes virus that I know of. Ok so what does this mean AJ? I think i caught this at that strip bar! What do you think? Do you think this is a false positive and a possible mistake? Or is it possible I took this test 17 days after the incident and it caught a glimps of something? Thanks AJ any answers will be greatly appreciated!
