Chest pains, please help

I have been coughing up some sort of liquid for a few months now and only recently have I felt a pressure in my chest. It is increasingly difficult to breath and I don't know why...the burning sensation possibly is from heart burn as I tend to get it after eating...so I suspect it's heart burn.
But does heart burn also give you a pressure in your chest? I'm really really confused and scared it could be something serious.

the pain was indeed heartburn, still freaked me out that night but feeling much better than before
but still doesn't explain the pressure on my chest...or the pressure sensation..makes it quite difficult to breath and deeply bothers me
I have gone to the doctor and had some blood drawn out to my own distaste but it should clear up some things when the results come back and the doctor said nothing about what could be causing the pressure in my chest...except that I might have asthma...
they have given me some pills that I will be trying out to see if they work or not

dont worry, everytghing will be alright, yes heartburn can cause chest pain, but... you want to ensure it is not cardiac pain, is the pain mainly in one spot or does it spread, if you get heart burn more than twice a week it is classified as GERD(gastro-esophageal reflux disease) one way you can test to see if it is coming from heartburn is lay on your back and relax your stomach, press on the place where your ribs start to split apart and if it hurts pretty bqad you probably have GERD but i think you should go to the doctor and see what they say...i really cant give you a definitive idea until i get more info from you
