Dribbling after adult circumcision

Hi,

I had phimosis and also had the problem of post-void dribbling. at least i only noticed the dribbling post-void. when i would wake up in the morning, my briefs would be noticeably stained with urine.

i went to three urologists and two of them said phimosis could cause post-void dribbling, something about urine getting trapped in the foreskin. the other said he didnt think circumcision was necessary.

i went ahead and did the procedure thinking that many people get circumcisions so if it worked it worked, if not no big deal. i just wanted to get rid of my leaking problem.

its been about 4 days now after the circumcision, the problem is i am now dribbling a little bit all throughout the day not just post-void. the urine comes out one drop at a time, as if coming out of a syringe.

could this be due to inflammation after the circumcision and thus temporary? maybe a urethral stricture? i noticed my urine stream is a bit weaker as well.

thanks for any feedback and help

Hi,

I think that your stream might be weaker due to the fact that your penis might still be swolen a bit.
As for circumcision ending the dribbling, I find that difficult to believe. Seems to me that the urologist was mis informing you in regards to circumcision. Some times phimosis can be cured without surgery.

At the age of 45 I had my first case of balanitis and paraphimosis which I thought was the result of having a catheter in for a year or so. The very first thing our female doctor mentioned was circumcision. I told her that I would never go for that so she prescribed a steroid cream After about 10 days or so things cleared up. It took several months of gentily stretching my foreskin to have it back the way it used to be.

There is also an article on Medscape that shows that circumcision does not end all.
Here a circumcised male at birth had to get a repeat after coming down with a lesion.

All the best.
