E coli in the urinary tract

I was diagnosed wit having e-coli in my urinary tract I was given medication to take for 7 days but I still feel ill what do I do and what are the causes for this?

hi i was told i tested positive for ecoli in my urinary tract on april 3rd. i went back to the doctor on april 5th and he gave me a different antibiotic. i was feeling better until april 10th and now i have the fever , cold chills, aches n pains back. i called the doctor and he again gave me a different antibiotic. i still have the fever, cold chills n pain. what should i do?

Hi,
A course of 7 days is enough for you. I don’t think you need any additional course for the same. Any infection does drain one out. I’ll suggest you to drink plenty of fluids and hopefully everything should be fine. Meanwhile, if you continue to run fever, then I’ll suggest you to get a urine culture done again to rule out any continuing infection. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care.
