Semen Allergy?

I had been diagnosed with Prostatitis some time ago and antibiotics and diet change has not helped it to go away, is it possible that I am allergic to my own semen? Would that have similar symptoms to prostatitis?
if so is there any way to cure it?

Hi the cause of prostatitis is poorly understood. I have had many bouts with no real reason. Ejeculation and or sexual stimulation can make things worse when you have prostatitis. Once again the cause is poorly understood. Doctors most likely will treat the symptoms only. Some will also use antibiotics. I no longer agree with that unless there is a secondary infection.

Good luck,

Ron

I generally only get prostatitis pain after ejaculation or even slight sexual stimulation (the pain which lasts for day) is this a normal cause of prostatitis?

It is very unlikely that you are allergic to your own semen.

I have had prostatis on and off since about 1994, and still do. It is not well known what the causes are or if there are any.

Changing things in my diet did not help and having them back in my diet made no difference. The only thing that was found in me was that I have a neurogenic bladder. Even this should not cause problems with prostatitis, as it should only relate to my bladder.

So far I deal with the problems and discomfort as I experience it. Things that they tried for me include medications like Flomax and Detrol LA. These meds give relieve on some areas but does not really deal with the prostatitis. One thing that gives me some relief at times is a hot bath.

I'm sorry but I'm afraid that there is no real treatment option other than trial and error.

I used to work as a heavy duty mechanic and I had many sleepless nights causing me to mis work due to the discomfort as well as being tired.

Good luck,

Ron
