Frequent Urination

Hello,
I had a serious blunt trauma to the back of my neck a while ago. Since then slowly I started noticing many symptoms unknown were due to the bulging disks in my cervical area. I found out after MRI. I am a male in my late 20's and when I go to urinate I finish, zip up and soon after I start "leaking" again in drops. Sometimes my jeans get a round 1-2 inch wet spot which is embarrasing. At night now for the past weeks it has became more constant that I wake up 3-4 times to go. and if I have any drink I will go sometimes 1-3 times for a 12fl ounce drink. Problem is hit or miss sometimes the same as my c5-c6 disk protrusion symptoms. My neurologist said the Urination problem can not be related to the disk problem. Is this true or may I have also damaged a nother part of my neck that may cause to this. Note I never had this problem until after my accident. I also got diagnosed with Occipittal Neuralgia from the hard hit and whiplash when I got up from the floor and struck a metal object broadside in back of my neck. I will appreciate any help and thank you since besides my pain now I have potty breaks waking me up at night. I have not slept more than 2 hours in a night for a while now.

I did not injure any part of my pelvic area or bladder.I got up from the floor hit my neck and fell on my bottom pretty hard.  May it be from pain meds or muscle relaxers. I am taking Flexiral 1 10mg x a day and 2 10mg at night. also taking naproxen for anti infamitory 2x a day and oxycodene 10mg 3x a day ,and Opana 10mg 2 x a day. Lots of medication I know I am sick of them already. May any of these pills enlarge my prostate or cause frequent urination side affects.?

I am not a doctor, however i just had a thought as I read you post.  If I am way off, I apologize, but when you fell etc. is it possible that you might have also bruised or irritated your bladder etc.  I am sure with the pain from the other issues, you might not have noticed any pelvic type pain at the time, but it is possible that the impact did also
cause some pelvic issues.  If you continue to have a problem, as the doctor recommended a visit with a urologist is a good idea, however if they can not find the cause of your problem you might ask for a referral to a Pelvic Pain or Urinary urgency
physical therapist.  In truth, a good PT is amazing and has an incredable ability to
find underlying issues many doctors are not trained to look for. I personally had
pelvic damage from many years ago that I thought was part of my problem, all doctors assured me it was not.  The pelvic pain PT, without even knowing my history was immediately able to tell me the pelvic damage done years before.  She was also able
to help work and heal those muscles etc.

Good luck at finding your solution.

Shelly

Hi,
How are you? Frequent urination and leakage of urine after urination are not related to C5-C6 injury. This could be due to irritation of the bladder lining or prostrate enlargement. Do you have any other symptoms like blood in urine, burning sensation while urination, discharge etc? It would be better to visit a urologist for further work up.
Best.
