UTI

I am a male and I have diabetes.
Urinate about approximately every 2 hours or less during the day,
Pressure/very ticklish/ pain feeling at the tip of the penis before urination..
Ticklish sensation when I stand up and move around and the urge to urinate.
I took Bactrim for 10 days and the pain is much less. I finished antibiotic yesterday.
My urine analysis/test shows that no bacteria present and no culture.
I do not have pain on my upper or lower stomach.
Sometimes in the night my urine flow is slower and little more pain.
Can any you suggest what kind of UTI i have.
Thank you

Hello,
Such kind of pain at tip of penis can be due to infection, inflammation or injury along the urethra or the glans itself. If you are sexually active then it can be due to STD’s, prostatitis or this may be due to a dermatitis or a fungal infection. Contact or allergic dermatitis may occur and may cause some of these symptoms. Another differential will be a lower urinary tract infection.

A complete physical examination by a urologist will be able to help. A urinalysis may be able to rule out infections in the urinary tract. Just prevent manipulation of the area as this may cause injuries and aggravate the pain. Wear cotton clothes and wash the area well.
I hope it helps. Take care and regards.

But I still have the symptoms mentioned above. After taking the Bactrim antibiotic my pain or burning effect is much less.
Do I have inflammation of the lining of the urethra (urethritis)?

Thank you

If your urine is clear and your culture is negative, you have no infection.
