High white blood count in midstream urine+abdomen pain

I have just been to the my doctor about persistant light pains in my sides before and after going to the bathroom. I experienced similar with a UTI(or what my doctor thought was a uti when doing a pap smear earlier)  previously and took some tablets and it subsided.
Now about 4 months later -Daily i experience a gnawing pain that builds and then subsides then becomes present again.
My doctor examined my abdomen  and when she pressed in the area of my kidneys i felt sharp pains on both sides in the general area streaming towards the middle of my abdomen. I was shocked by this.
My doctor did a urine analysis and it showed high white blood count.
It did not show up for a UTI but i have taken amoxicillin as prescribed just incase.
I do not know if this is relevent but lately have had sever gas and bloating which subsided within a day.
My period was two weeks ago.
I have lower back pain which i dont think is related.
I have cloudy and strong smelling urine usually. And clear discharge is sometimes present.
Any ideas anyone?
My doctor was stumped!
Thanks for reading.

I agree with both posters above that it is significant to have some imaging done
to make sure there is not an ovarian cysts etc.  IF all those test come back negative I
would encourage you to see a Pelvic Pain, PT.  If you give me your area I would be glad to speak with mine and ask her for a referral.  She is great, helped me significantly and also is great about helping people.

Again, if you test results come back without showing a reason for your symptoms and pain, it is possible that the symptoms your feeling are related interstitial cystitis or Pelvic Congestion syndrome.  I have both of these conditions and have the same symptoms that you describe. If you would likes some links or info. on IC to help you
send me pm messages since we can not put links on the public site.

We do also have a new IC and Pelvic Pain forum here on Medhelp.  I hope you will join us and work together to share and support one another.

Hi,
From the description of the symptoms, it seems like a UTI only and could possibly be associated with a stone in the urinary tract and thus will suggest you to get yourself evaluated on those lines by getting an ultrasound and possibly a CT-IVU done to rule it out. The cloudy urine does indicate the presence of the infection and you’ll need to take antibiotics for the same and also keep drinking lots of fluids. There’s also a possibility of the infection of the kidneys as there’s tenderness in the area of the kidneys. Please discuss the same with your physician. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care.

I had a da vinci myomectomy two weeks ago.  A fibroma and 2 fibroids were taken out of my ovary and utherus.  My lab exams and symtoms were high white blood cells in urine, lack of energy, bloating, at some point urinary frequency and lower quadrant pain.  I will advise to see an ob/gyn that will prescribe an ultrasound of the reproductive organs.
