On going Penis problem...

I've been to urologists, doctors, and had 3 STD tests. No one can tell me what is wrong here....

I'm male, uncircumsized, 24. I got a yeast infection 10 months ago, it didn't go away. I took topical cream Nisatin (or something like that) still didn't go away. I took oral tablets Diflucan, still nothing. At this point, the infection started coming and going... But never really "gone." Esp after masturbation or sex, the itchiness returns right away. If I refrain from sex or masterbation it goes away almost entirely, but as soon as I masterbate or have sex (even protected) the odor comes back + itchiness. I have heard this is Smega, but I wash twice daily, and practice good hygene...

I've tried alternatives soaps, tea trea oil, candida pills, NO SOAP (actually most affective), coconut oil, and different kinds of anti biotics. I'm having trouble telling if this is an on going Yeast Infection (my last test said they didn't find much yeast) or just Smegma, or what! The urologist I went to said maybe circumisizion is the best option but i've heard mixed reviews on that... Any help is appreciated!!!! I'm seriously over this!!!!

Ok, I have seen a few posts about this and someone said about drinking water, I'm drinking it now as I type this, he said drink at least a gallon and I can feel it working, and when you feel like you REALLY REALLY need to urine due to the water, urinate in the toilet and the discomfort should go, if it happens again just try it again because I have had mine for a long period of time now, this is the only way I can solve it really, I'm just  glad it working and also try and take your mind off it, go on your computer or something because afterwards you should be fine :)

Thanks a bunch for the input. I really appreciate it. I guess my concern is that it's not actually yeast... The odor goes away entirely, and the condition seems to be gone completely, until sexual intercourse, or masterbation. It FEELS like there is itchiness all the way down through the inside of the penis as well (though very subtle) Like underneath the skin almost... Within a few seconds after a climax, there is a strong fish like smell that comes from the penis. (it's not the semen) As well, I have noticed my urine smells a little bit. But I don't think this is a urinary track infection. The irritation always fluctuates but it has not left entirely for almost a year now. As well, I have spent a lot of time in 3rd world countries and had a lot of strange stuff over the years. (however nothing like this) I've been tested for every STD multiple times so i'm ruling that out... My last blood cell count was a little low as well... Any other ideas? Every doc I see says "Oh it's just yeast. It might take a long time to cure..." Is it possible it's something else? I might go see a tropical disease specialist but this is seriously burning a hole in my pocket... Thanks!

Hi,

I would not resort to circumcision. I have had continuous yeast infections due to long term antibiotics use. At times I have used Monistat and Canesten cream. Thing clear up but than flare up again later. Currently I have not had a yeast infection for about a year now but I still have been on antibiotics.
Yeast can be very difficult to control. It can also thrive in the digestive tract and mouth.
Use yogurt and acidophiles (not sure if the spelling is right).
One reason why yeast can be out of control could be diabetes, so you would want to consider this. Also limit your sugar intake, yeast thrives on it.
Try to keep the glans and foreskin dry, yeast needs moisture.

Circumcision may not end the problems and others can result of it. I know how irritating the itchyness can be, but I'm not willing to part with my foreskin just to see if it would end the yeast. I have had times where it would take several months for the yeast to be controled. It is also important to treat any partners at the same time.

One thing that you need to make sure of is that this indeed is caused by yeast and not some other skin condition or allergy.

I don't want to scare you but there is an article on Medscape that shows that circumcision does not prevent certain things from taking place.
You will have to become a Medscape member to be able to view the entire article. It is worth your while doing so.

I sincerely hope that you will be able to get this under control.

All the best.

Ron
