Hi,
I am sorry to say that the infection is very much there as you still have the urgency and pain.

If the organism was sensitiv to the first combo of antibitics they should have been continued to complete one course.

How long have you been on ciprofloxacin?

The fact that you have back pain could be significant if you also have flank pain, as it could indicate that the infection is spreading up the urinary tract.

You need to go back on antibiotics that the infective organism is sensitive to and remember to keep yourself hydrated

Do see your doctor at the earliest if you have been on cipro for more than a day without relief.

Take plenty of fluids and the tylenol in the interim.

regards

Hi,
Are you male or female?
Are you currently on any antibiotics?
Has your urine been sent for a culture analysis to evaluate what antibiotics the infective organism is sensitive to?

By pain around the bladder, do you mean abdominal pain?

Until your report comes in, or you start any further antibiotics, do the following:

Take tylenol every 4-6 hours for the pain.
Drink fluids in excess of 3000cc(12 glasses).
Start taking ascorbic acid 1000mg per day to acidify your urine.
Also drink cranberry or citrus juices.
Apply a heating pad over the lower abdomen and back.
Do not resist the urge to urinate. Go as soon as you feel the urge and you will notice that the frequency reduces.
Wipe from front to back after using the restroom.
Avoid using soap or chemicals at the urethral opening as this may further irritate the area right now.
  Avoid alcohol and caffeine.
Take a break from work and rest until symptoms get better.
If the organism is resitant to ciprofloxacin, ask your doctor to tell you what antibiotics you should be on.
If you have been on any other antibiotic for more than 8 hours without any relief in symptoms, please call your doctor and inform him/ her of the same.

Do keep us posted on your progress
regards
