Hi,
If you suspect that the yellowish discharge is being passed from the urethral opening (instead of the vaginal), it should not receive delayed medical attention.
Please note that in view of your symptoms indicative of STIs over the past year and UTI over the past couple of days, there is a good possibility that the discharge could be originating from your kidneys.
It is of absolute importance that you seek medical attention at the earliest to rule out any ascending infection that could have affected your kidneys.
It is also possible that the infection could be from other structures in the pelvis, but being female, you are at a higher risk of pelvic conditions and complications secondary to any infection.
If you develop any fever with chills or flank pain or any other symptoms that make you feel ill please seek emergency attention.
Meanwhile, take vitamin C-rich juices, such as cranberry and citrus, to flush the bacteria in the urinary tract.
Drink fluids in excess of 2000 ml per day.
And try to increase your intake of calcium.
Do keep us posted on how you are doing.
Regards
well, i havent been diagnosed with anything. I've yet to go to the GYN, my appointment has been made for thursday of this week.
I'm almost positive that the yellow discharge is not from my vagina though. I can feel it come out when i urinate. Its a tiny yellowish strand and there's always some of it every time i pee.
thank you so much for your help
Hi,
It is possible that you have an infection of the reproductive tract which may have also caused a urinary tract infection.
Being female, it is imperative that you seek immediate medical attention for your symptoms. Sexually transmitted infections, such as chlamydia and gonorrhoea, not only cause significant damage to your system along with potential for complications such as infertility, they also put you at significant risk of contracting HIV infection.
A yellow discharge (which could be from the vagina) indicates that there is serious infection that needs evaluation and treatment.
Did you take any treatment for the chlamydia and gonorrhoea infections?
Please see a physician for your symptoms until you have a chance to meet your gynecologist.
In the interim,
Avoid any unprotected sex.
Drink fluids in excess of 2000 ml per day.
increase intake of citrus juices and vitamin C-rich foods.
Do keep us posted on your doubts and progress.
