Hi,
My deepest condolences over your loss. I regret that it will not be possible to communicate over personal emails or in person. However, any doubts and questions you post on Medhelp will be answered through this forum.

Potter's syndrome is a genetic disorder in which the fetus fails to develop kidneys and an adequate renal system, fails to produce urine, has reduced fluid surrounding the fetus in the womb, and has decreased and improper development of other organs, such as the lungs, as a consequence.

The condition where the membranes rupture prematurely is also referred to as Potter's syndrome.
The less severe forms of this disorder are called Potter's sequence.

There are tests for diagnosing a genetic predisposition for this disorder, and amniocentesis in the early weeks of pregnancy will also reveal the presence of this syndrome in the fetus.

Do post us your doubts.

Hi there,
Are you sure that the babies succumbed due to Potter's syndrome?
DO you have any medical reports document the same?

Potter's syndrome is a condition in which the fetus fails to develop kidneys and ureter and as a result is unable to produce any urine, which results in other complications such that the fetus is stillborn or dies within a day or two after birth.

This term is sometimes loosely applied wven in cases where it is not true Potter's syndrome such as when there is less fluid around the baby in the womb or when the membranes rupture prematurely.

This is a disorder that is genetically inherited.

Tests for diagnosing this condition in the early stages of pregnancy include amnoicentesis.

Do post us with your doubts and progress.
