iam 25 years old.till last year i was perfectly normal,enjoying my life.1 year ago i was diagnosed with INTERNAL HEMORRHOIDS in saint Johns hospital,Bangalore.Doctor gave me Duphalac syrup and told to follow fiber rich diet to treat HEMORRHOIDS.i took it for 1 month and followed the diet.but, conditions didn't improve. i went back to the doctor and told it was not helpful.Doctor told me to take SCLEROTHERAPY,i was not knowing anything about sclerotherapy. Doctor explained that its just an injection given to the bulged veins in the rectum to sink it so that it would go off permanently.i asked him about any possible complications in the procedure.he told me that there are no complications in the procedure and nothing to worry about it. he told that its just a simple procedure which is done as out patient procedure and i could go home after the procedure.since doctor told there were no complications in the SLEROTHERAPY PROCEDURE i put my trust in the doctor and agreed to the sclerotherapy. during the procedure, it was very much painful and there was lot of bleeding. after the procedure i had severe pain in my rectum i couldn't walk properly.in first 2 weeks after sclerotherapy,passing stools was really painful in my rectum,stools would consist of blood stains and mucus.i was taking duphalc syrup for free motions.after 2 more weeks the pain didn't subside so i called the doctor and told pain is not subsiding. Doctor told that its common pain after sclerotherpy and i should take rest for 2 or 3 more weeks to get cured.i waited for 3 more weeks.finally pain reduced to some extent but not completely subsided, i still had a constant disturbing pain in my rectum which i cant ignore.

After 3 months, few more new problems are stated; frequent urination , painful ejaculation, a constant mild pain in my rectum which would increase on prolonged sitting, become severe on sitting for long time (above 1.5 hours)/ sitting on hard surfaces / riding bike / jumping .now i saw the Doctor and told about all the problems that am facing.Doctor never cared and told me to take rest for few more weeks and everything will be fine. now i waited for 2 more weeks , nothing is improved.all these days i was taking duphalac syrup for free motions and followed a good fiber rich diet.then i called the doctor and shocked to hear that he has left the saint john hospital.now am forced to see the other doctor. now i went to manipal hospital, i met an urologist.he listened to my symptoms (frequent urination , painful ejaculation, a constant mild stabbing pain in me left hip region,pain in my rectum which would increase on prolonged sitting / sitting on hard surfaces / riding bike / jumping) and diagnosed me with prostratitis.Now am shocked to know that i have prostatitis.I TOOK TREATMENT FOR INTERNAL HEMORRHOIDS AND ENDED UP BEING A PROSTRATITIS PATIENT. now, i came to know that there was really something went wrong in the SCLEROTHERAPY procedure. i started collecting information on SCLEROTHERAPY. i was really shocked to know that there are lot more complications in the procedure which doctor did not explained me.now am very sure that there was something went wrong in the SCLEROTHERAPY,  perhaps Doctor accidentally injected into prostate gland and this could be the reason for all my sufferings.


i went through following Tests :

URINE CULTURE - Normal
Sonofistulogram - No evidence of fistula in ano / intersphincteric abscess.
Ultrasonography of the abdomen - Normal abdominopelvic scan.
Hematology - Normal

Doctor treated me for Prostratitis with following drugs :

Zanocin OD 400 mg (0 0 1)for 6 weeks
Purofloxin 600 mg (0 0 1)for 5 weeks
Ciprofloxin 500 mg (1 0 1)for 4 weeks

But nothing helped me.my conditions didn't improve but getting worse.

Nearly 1.2 years after SLEROTHERAPY, my conditions really got worsened.i am not able sit on even a soft chair for more then 1 hour continuously,i feel tenderness in my rectum all the time, i feel tenderness in my lower left groin region and a strange pain in lower left abdominal region,i just cant sleep on my belly if i sleep i will get pain in my lower left groin region which will radiate towards central abdomen region.Also i cant sleep on my sides ,only position i can sleep on is my back.am facing difficulty in urination means urine will not come out easily, i have push hard to urinate, i have to push so many times to empty my bladder.Even after urination is completed i still feel like peeing again.my libido is very low or almost zero.Above all,AM HEADING TOWARDS TO BECOME AN IMPOTENT.please help me,am really sick with worry.am depressed.
only time i feel better is  when i take hot sitz baths, taking sitz bath reduces the symptoms for sometime.
I have been worried to tears about this more times that I can remember.Private pleasure is one of the sweet things in life. Without decent sex, I felt like there'd be nothing left in my life to escape to.Please Please help me

Hi,

I went through ureteroscopy wherein i ended catching up prostitis infection some 6 years back.I tried almost tried everything and every treatment listed above to get cured but almost everything failed.

Finally after 3 years of trouble one of of the senior uorologist advised me to take flotral(alfuzosin) at night & 500mg celin tablet (vitamin c) thrice a day.i.e vitamin c 1500 mg doses divided into three.He told me to take initially for a month.

Miracle happened and my prostitis was almost cured.But you can see the results in around 3 weeks.My treatment carried on for around 2 years wherein my vitaminc dose was reduced from 3 tablets to 1 tablet a day and after three years i am free of protitis and i no longer take flotral and just one tablet of vitamin c a day.

I am a doctor but was a sufferer and finaly a  cured patient of prostitis.

You are not alone - I experienced the same thing at Stepping Hill Hospital, England. The consultant Mr Mohan assaulted me, there is no other word for it, and left me in agony; urinating and ejaculating blood and then fully impotent.

If anyone else has experienced this we must stand together and bring this to the media's attention where is the urology, endocrinology and neurological help that this man & I need?
