Hi,

It is best to have an objective test such as a urinalysis done to asertain the presence of an underlying infection.

With regards to cranberry juice, there is still a lack of clinical trials with large sample sizes to help strengthen previous claims that 100% cranberry juice may actually treat UTI.However, there are studies with good design which shows that 100% cranberry juice may actually reduce the risk of developing UTI in the long run. Cranberry juice acts by preventing bacteria from sticking to the linings of the bladder. Also,it may make the urine more acidic and thus decrease bacterial load in the urine.

One hundred percent cranberry juice may actually be used as an adjunct or supplement to medical therapy when treating or preventing UTI.

Hi,

Yes, an impinged nerve may cause discomfort in the groin area. Try to do walking exercises rather than cycling exercises as this may cause pudendal nerve irritation for some people. Try to avoid prolonged sitting and try to give yourself a few minutes to stretch and relax.

I still feel that a urinalysis will be able to give an objective assessment. At least we will be able to rule out an underlying infection. We do not want to assume at this point .

Hi,

This constant unpleasant discomfort or sensation in the groin area may actually be due to an underlying urinary tract infection. A UTI does not necessarily mean that his has been acquired sexually.

I suggest that you have a urinalysis done to rule out any possible infections. You may be needing oral antibiotics. It is best to have a urine culture done at the onset before the intake of medications.

Continue to observe your symptoms. Minor cuts ,irritation or injuries to the skin of the penis especially that surrounding the head or glans may also present with some discomfort.

hi,
thank you for responding and trying to help me. This feeling now vanished since 2 days ago and it was strange this time that it wasnt severe burning after urinating it was constant unpleasent feeling all the time for 3 weeks and whenever i urinate or ejaculate it was burning. Before it used i used to have buring sensations when urinating but it used to happen like once or twice a month and it happens also sometimes  after my first urination after ejaculation. The sensation occurs during and after voiding and starts to decrease by time, when i have this feeling i have increased urinary frequency but even with very little amount of urine, there is no redness or swelling or lesions in my penis, but once i hurted my top of the penis when i was closing my zipers that was a year ago.
thank you alot Mrs. Vanessa
I apprecaite helping me.

Hi,

A burning pain in the urethra may not necessarily be due to an infection although this may be one of the differentials . You have noted an unpleasant burning pain in the urethra usually associated with urination.

Does this burning sensation only present during urination or is this present at all times?

During urination when do you note the burning to occur : during the start of voiding ,at the end or throughout voiding?

Any other associated symptoms like increase in urinary frequency ?

Any redness ,swelling or visible lesions noted in the area or on the penis?

Any history of previous trauma or injury to the area?

Let me say that you are young and in the absence of a significant sexual history this does not sound like an urgent case.

I have a few differentials in mind. I will appreciate your answers to my questions.
