I do some kind of milk (soy, myself, I can't do dairy)...
General rules of thumb:
Dairy Protein or others glides you through 4 hours...
Fat 3 hours
Starch 2 hours
Fruit 15 minutes...
:) So, my breakfast looks like oatmeal or grits, 1 cup soy milk, raisins or other fruit, some kind of Smart or Earth Balance margerine... Also, if I want cereal, I have a slice of gluten free bread w/ margerine (this way I get the fat in, I have need for the gf, any bread will do)...
Hello there,
Breakfast is the most important meal of the day. I'm guessing when you
do eat breakfast, it's not enough, that's why you're hungry. Here's my
suggestion for a filling breakfast. It's important to have some protein
at each meal. Myself, I alternate between scrambled eggs ( 2 of them)
and 1 piece of toast and a bowl of fibre 1 cereal, 1 piece of toast and
either a cup of coffee or tea. You can also have a little snack about
3 to 4 hours after breakfast to keep you going until lunch. This little
snack, something like a cup of yogurt, a handful of almonds, an apple
etc. will keep your blood sugar from dropping. I hope these suggestions
are helpful. Take care, Eve
Try to eat whole grain bread - it makes you feel full for some hours. Maybe you should also eat a little snack between your breakfast and lunch, like an apple or some nuts - because then you feel less hungry and you won't get cravings for something unhealthy!
