Besides .. did you ever really ask yourself "why" you are eating "stale smarties"???  just a thought ... and a question only you can answer.  (((Hugs))) Ranae

For me .. it was because I was bored, sad or lonely .. not because I enjoyed or wanted the food.  ;)

BTW - Have a special surprise for each of you regarding the Halloween candy.  If you'll join us for our upcoming Halloween Party ..... more details to follow .... we have a special candy recipe to share with you that is most allowable and yummy!!!  Even has some health benefits .. a true win-win .. and it has Chocolate!

We can't usually get Wells Blue Bunny products here (my favorite when we lived in IA), but every once in a while I see some, so will have to keep my eyes open for them.  Guess I will have to scour the supermarket freezers and see what else I can come up with.  If Wells Blue Bunny makes a fudgesicle with that few calories, I'm sure there must be others as well.

Thanks Skailark - keep pushing - we can do it!!

Barb135 - Wells Blue Bunny makes a fudgesickle that is 35 calories.  The serving size on the package shows 2 bars for 70 calories.  They make a couple of them at varying calories, so look for these .. they're really quite tasty!

And, CONGRATULATIONS on taking responsibility and putting in the extra effort to not only take care of what you ate but further your efforts and LOSE!!!  Now that's taking charge!!!  YEAAAAHHHHHHHH YOOOUUUUUUU!!!  You shiny example is motivational for all!!!

Skailark - Thanks so much for your encouragements .. and advice .. most helpful and motivating!

Thanks.  Guess what??  My scale even said that I dropped a pound and 1/2 this morning.  Will see later, as I usually fluctuate 2-3 pounds/day.  At least it's some encouragement.

Good evening.  What brand of fudgesicle is only 35 calories?  I like the Weight Watchers ones, but they are around 100 (or more) calories.  I've never been a real chocolate lover and still not on a regular basis.  Most of the time, I can have the same bag of chocolate candy in the fridge for several months, but I do like the fudgesicles.

Secondly - thanks to everyone for the comments last night.  I did make up for the mini chocolates I ate last night!!  I cut back on calories today (apples and yogurt; no sweets), plus I made sure that I did some extra walking at work and did a bit extra during my workout this afternoon.

For myself - I'm not really a sweets eater, though I do get a taste once in a while but I think it's a great idea that I have to make myself accountable when I goof up. Since I am hypothyroid and it's extra hard to lose weight under the best of circumstances, I need to be very careful.

Wonderful thread, ideas, teamwork and planning.  Awesome, awesome ..

Here's something I found helpful when truly craving "CHOCOLATE!!!"

Choice 1 - Eat a fudgesickle for 35 calories (or 2 or 3)
Choice 2 - Go to the fancy candy store and buy TWO pieces of chocolate and eat each one very very slowly and realize that is it and it will not hurt me .. and I am done.
Choice 3 - Find the small tins of chocolate covered mints .. 2 mints for 15 calories .. in the checkout line at the store.  Then, let them slowly slowly melt in my mouth.
Choice 4 - Buy the Dove dark chocolate, a bag of the individual pieces .. DO NOT OPEN.  Give to my coworker or family member and advise them I can have NO MORE than one piece a day .. then eat it slowly and savour the flavor.  And, skip some days .. just cause I "can" have it daily doesn't mean I "choose" to.  Remember, YOU are in control of your choices .. the chocolate is NOT.

GREAT idea on the exercise and holding yourself accountable.  It may be tough, but it is true and a very wise way to THINK before you EAT!  Thanks Skailark ..

If you fall .. get back up .. it's a learning process and you don't rise to the top of the class without a lot of study.

(((Hugs))) and best wishes you little goblins!  ;)

I have some stale smarties that are in my Halloween candy ready to go .. I've gotten desperate and have eaten them and they are STALE ... they aren't bad to eat, just can crack a tooth or two LOL and I still have been spotted sneaking them into my mouth.

Thank you all .. I am not alone!

I love smarties! and right now I am in that "weak week" that us ladies find ourselves in. Trying to behave but it can be tough. I split a dark chocolate hershey bar with three other co workers today so I still had some but didnt over do it.

The past couple of years I had not given Halloween candy out because I take my children out. If they have gotten a lot of the little candy bars I bag them into little sandwich bags, like three or four at a time and then freeze them. so later down the road they can have a few and the temptation is away from me and my husband.

Thanks I needed that.  I tend to be my own worst enemy.  My job generally involves quite a bit of physical activity, so I can step it up a bit and probably not lose anything, but at least manage not to gain either.

Hey Barb! Take it easy...some times we fail ,sometimes we fall...sometimes we stumble..but it doesnt matter as long as we keep doing the right thing!

I know you will do the right thing tomorrow! Have a great day at work!

Now you're getting tough.  How can I possibly burn off twice the calories of 2 mini bars when I have to go to bed in 1/2 hr and get up at 3:30 am in order to get to work on time.  Wow - tomorrow is going to have to be a busy day in order for me to be accountable for those lousy bars.

No problem Barb! I know you are an amazing perosn! And i know you can do this!

I like that philosophy.  Can work well for me especially since I hate exercise.  Eat this and pay the price!  I think the exercise has to burn off twice the calories of the offending item!

Wow - you're tough and just what I need, since I just ate a couple of "mini" chocolate bars.  Now you are forcing me to figure out what I'm going to have to do get rid of them.  Thanks for the wake up call.

Stop It! Stop It! This is how my little nephew says when he finds me doing things he doesnt like! lol....Thought this might work! just kidding....

If you are really going to have those candies, then you have to come  up with the plan on how you are going to burn them. So your penalty wudd be to put it in writing in this thread the exercsies you wud do to burn those sweet calories! Then you will have to do it and log it in your jouranl and exercsie tracker so we know you are not cheating ( you cud still..but we know you wont!)

So waht is it going to be  - penalty or you want to walk away from the candies? lol....

I would have a hard time too.  I now know I can't buy it until the 31st or else it ends up inside hubby and me instead of in the kids!
