Fishy Odor

I'm a 28 yr old woman and for the past 2 months, I've had a fishy vaginal smell during and right after intercourse.  I've noticed that if I put my finger in my vagina and wipe it dry the smell left behind is a fishy smell, but other than that it is only noticable during or after intercourse.  I'm in a monogamous relationship with the same man for the past 7 years and have never had anything like this happen.  I've been tested for STD's and other infections twice and all tests are coming back normal. Also I have no discharge or irritation, just a stinky vagina. I've tried eating plain yogurt and even inserting it in my vagina. That made the smell go away temporarily, but it came back.  I tried using VH Essentials BV inserts and completed the 6 day regimen.  Within the first day I'd noticed the smell was gone.  After I finished these I was able to have sex, only to have the smell come back a week later.  So now I'm getting a third doctor's opinion as I have an appointment scheduled for this Tuesday.  I've never had an STD or had to deal with BV (I think that it's BV but the doctors keep telling me that I'm fine).  This is really ruining my sex life and self confidence; has anyone been through this before and do you have any suggestions.

I was 21, and I had the same problem. Went to the doctor. It was some kind of bacterial information. I don't remember the exact name for the infection. But after the embarrassment, I asked him what causes this kind of infection. He said, from you or your partner  has more than one sex partners.

I also think it sounds like bacterial vaginosis.  I would see a doctor and they can culture this to be sure.  The standard of treatment for that is a medication such as flagyl.  It can be a resilient bug so sometimes takes a couple of courses to treat along with our partners being treated as we can pass it back and forth.  it is not an std but can be passed like one.

Wear loose fitting, always dry (no sweat . . .  change after a work out for example) cotton panties.  It helps a little.

wishing you lots of luck

Thanks, that's what I've been thinking also.  I have appointment scheduled with a different doctor on this coming Tuesday.

Sounds like bv. It's not a std, it's a imbalance. Don't douse and try a different doctor to treat u for it. Demand the antibody to for it.
