I've heard different ideas of when you first gyno trip should be, but pretty much after you get your first period or when you become sexually active. I got my period just after I turned 14, but didn't start going to the gyno until I was 17 because my periods became irregular and I was sexually active. Every woman is different, but is important to maintain good health and your doctor can make sure you are healthy and if there is any reason for concern, he or she can help you fix that sooner rather than later.

The doctor will do a pelvic exam, this is normal. I found a link that answers questions about your first visit and what to expect. Good luck!

Definitely if you become sexually active but if you go after you begin your first period it is unlikely that a pelvic exam would be done on you unless there is room for cause. Most docs, at least in my clinic, didn't do one unless there was a reason to e.g irregular period, severe abdominal pain, abnormal discharge, etc. They may do a breast exam but that is rare too. A lot of what I have seen is mostly educating you on your body and warning signs for potential problems.
