There are several reasons why a woman have delayed menstruation and this could be due to unhealthy diet, stress (emotional or physical), sudden weight gain or loss, caffeine, alcohol, and smoking. Gynecological conditions like polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS), and uterine cysts or polyps, can also bring about alteration in menstrual cycle. However, pregnancy is still the most common cause of delayed or missed period. At the early stage of pregnancy, the level of circulating HCG may still be low to be detected by routine urine pregnancy test. But you can do a serum pregnancy test (more sensitive than urine pregnancy test) to know the exact level of your HCG 1-2 weeks after ovulation or after a missed period. However, it will be better if you seek consult to an OB-GYNE specialist so you will be thoroughly assessed.

If your period has still not arrived, I would take another pregnancy test. Stress could be a factor in missed or delayed periods though. I would say since some stress is eliminated, you will probably see a change in your period. Is there a clinic or women's community health center or something of the sort to go to where you are located?
