Swollen & bruised labia majora.

Yesterday I noticed that my labia majora was somewhat itchy. (Not sure if that has anything to do with this.) Late last night, my husband and I were having sex when I noticed a lump on my right labia majora. We stopped because it frightened me, as it was rather large. I went to the bathroom to look at it and it just looked swollen and felt a little tender. I went to sleep in hopes that it would be "ok" when I woke up. Well, it's not. It's even bigger and now it's purple like a bruise. It's very uncomfortable too. I noticed on the labia minor, if I push, I can feel a lump that is the size of a peanut. Please help! I don't know what to do or what this could be.

From your description is sounds like it might be a Bartholin's cyst.  Look it up on Google to see what it is, and if that's it, what your options are. Good luck.

Get to your OB-GYN or clinic or planned parenthood as soon as possible. Do NOT freak out and do NOT try to "pop" it! Just go and get it looked at.
