big bump.

Hi, I'm 18 years old and I have had these huge bumps under my arm pit for the past few days. I had one on the left that I was able to pop and it's gone down but the two on my right are really big and hurt REALLY bad and I can't pop them, Should I go to a doctor or something? cause my dad told me they were probably just ingrown hairs from shaving. (I'm a girl) and I've tried everything I can think of and it's just getting bigger and hurting more. So what should I do?

Well I went to the hospital today and got it drained, I'm now on pain meds and antibiotics. The pain is bearable but it feels better with the boil out.

Well they are bigger now. The one that is right above my armpit does rub against my bra when I close my arm. I talked to my grandmother who use to be a nurse, she said what I was describing sounded like a boil. Cause now, there is this hard solid mass under the bump. So I got some boil cream and have been putting heat packs on it all day, so now I'm just waiting for it to come to a head so it will drain, but if it doesn't in a few days my dad said he would take me to the hospital. Thank you though for responding. I've never really ever been sick or had any kind of infection so when I found two huge lumps under my right arm I kind of started to freak out. But again, thank you for posting a response.

Is your bra rubbing on these bumps after shaving by chance causing further irritation?

Hi they are probably ingrown hairs! Good one Dad! Try a hot face washer and apply to the area and hopefully they will pop much easier. They are horrid. They way to avoid this ingrown hair thing is to use exfoliting creme or a loofah brush after shaving. Take care
