It's the same here in BiH. Combo has been used for several years, and so far NEVER happend that somone came up positive by retesting after 3 months. It is possible to happen, usually under some special circumstances, but even then very very unlikely ..
I was found HepC positive 7 months after being stabbed with a freshly used injection needle.
so if i contracted hepatitis..maybe that's why all my hiv result are negative, because the hepatitis delay my seroconversion for hiv, i'm scared.tomorrow i will do this combi test, for antibodies and antigen p24.tomorrow i will be in the 11-th week.
No, its 6 months for hepatitis but i doubt you contracted it.
We have the best STD--HIV clinics in the world and doctor HHH can back me up on that claim.
if I have hepatitis, seroconversion may take over 3 months ?
And what i know is, that the Austaliens are far in Frond in testing and datas. I have still lots of friends down there.
The expert doctors here on medhelp have never seen a negative at 6 weeks turn positive at 12 weeks and they express this on regular basis to the posters.Same in sydney,Australia where they have data that says a negative at 6 weeks has never turned positive at 12.
You are right!
I know it from a Lady hwo is doing since 6 years tests in Austria. She is very active in a German Forum and she is also saying that she never saw that a 8 weeks negativ turned at 12 weeks to positiv. And she is the one hwo gives all the resaulds out!
Yes and i heard that story to and there was a reason for it, he had another exposure inbetween testing and attempted to lie about it.He was on the local news.
I know, we are saying test same in Germany that a test at 12 weeks is conclusive!!!
i dont know why they changed the in Franc to 6 weeks but have a look at this http://www.e-sante.fr/sida-depistage-vih-evolue/actualite/663
I know from just 1 guy in Austria he was at 6 weeks negativ and at 12 weeks positv but there must be a reason for!

It makes no difference, they all use same tests.
Cheers
You don,t have to worry about it and neither do most of the population,it supposedly relates to people with highly depleted immune systems and no one else. However i knew a woman who was a chronic iv drug user and she tested 4 weeks after her exposure and that was in 1991.Her baby was infected aswell.Latent seroconversion means producing detectable antibodies well after 3 months but it rarely happens these days.
What is latent seroconversion? Is first time I hear about this.
Patients on chemo, patients taking antirejection drugs for organ transplants and chronic IV drug abusers.
Wish I were in France. I just woke up to yet another crazy dream about being infected. It is all that's on my mind. And I dont mean to be that pesky 'kid' who always has to ask "why," but what were some of the reasons for those cases of Latent seroconversion? and how long after exposure were they diagnosed?
There are no tests marked or sold to give a conclusive negative test earlier than three months post exposure.
In France you will get a conclusive test after 6 weeks and not anymore at 12 weeks with a 4th Generation test!
Just for your Information.

Combo test (ab+21) or ordinary antibody test will do the job. They are completely accurate at this time. There is no need for 3 months.

Thats right people get sick all the time and they don,t have hiv.The 3 classic ARS symptoms have been described as very high fever, very sore throat and a rash on the trunk-torso and limbs.2 to 4 weeks after exposure and lasting anywhere between 4 days and 2 weeks--they don,t come and go.It would be an excellent indication at 10 weeks and it wouldn,t change at 12. 3 months is what the manufactures of the tests say and the fda go with that. But in reality like i said the majority of the population will seroconvert between 6 to 8 weeks and all will by 12 weeks.Latent seroconversion doesn,t happen anymore. Those cases of latent seroconversion all took place in the 90,s.and there was always a reason for it.
I understand although when I read that people may not have any symptoms or get sick for up to a couple years after being exposed does that mean they won't even have a common cold or flu? I mean, doesnt eveyone (healthy or not) get sick at least once a year? I know I do. But still could this swollen lymph node be caued buy the hiv goin thru my body if I were in fact infected?
Do you think I should get tested this week if possible? Would it be a good indication of my status?
Forget about symptoms and how long they last, etc because symptoms mean nothing when diagnosing hiv only a test result does and you can test now for a result that won,t change at 12 weeks. The majority of the population will have detectable antibodies by 6 to 8 weeks.12 weeks is considered ultra conservative with todays 4th generation tests and 6 months is a myth.Test now and get rid of the stress.
