Dr gave me valium?

I posted below about my sleeping problem and serious mixed moods :(  I called the dr and he gave me valium to take.  I don't remember how this sat with me a long time ago.  Does it make you sick?  Will it help me sleep?

I used to take Valium to help me sleep but I found that its efficacy only lasted for a few weeks and then my body got used to it. I now take Ambien and clonazepam which seem to do the trick. Good luck in finding something to help.

The Centers for Mental Health here in Montana "aren't firm believers" in Valium and take people off of it who are on it.

Dear Kris,
I take valium...diazapam.....for vertigo and sleep.  It is old but one my system tolerates. Can't take ambien or some of the newer ones.

I'm not a big fan of valium but I have friends who take it and they seem fine. I personally would only take it short term because of the addictive qualities it has and the possible detox when you come off it.
I take kolopin .05mgx3 daily, along with melotin @ night for sleep. I also take seroquil during the day 2x50mg and 150@ bedtime, believe me I sleep.
Maybe it's time to revisit your meds with your pdoc, I have to agree with basket56 in choosing valium verses mixed eposoids.
Good luck and let us know how it works for you..........Be Blessed

Depending on your system and the dosage you may sleep. Higher doses make me feel carsick. I think that between having a mixed episode and valium, I'd choose the valium.
