Thickening Tissue of Breast

I went for ultrasound today and the radiologist felt a thickening in the lower inner quadrant of the breat, but not necessarily the breast more the beginning rib under of your breast. Ultrasound nothing. They want to do a mamogram (mammogram) but do not think is can be shown do to location. Do you have any idea of what this could be?

Dear Hooves, It is difficult to know how to respond to your question.  I'd have some questions first,for instance, why did you go for an ultrasound?  Did you feel something different that caused you concern?

If this area is not visualized on the mammogram, and there is no corresponding structure that the thickening can be attributed to, such as a breast fold, or a rib, they may recommend investigating further by taking a sample of the tissue.
