cycts, and abnormal mammogram

I went for another ultrasound last week. During this ultrasound they say that I had multiple cycts. I am also set up to have another mammogram in six monthes because the radiologist saw some calcifications on my last one. Is there anything I can do so I dont get anymore cycts. This is all in my right breast. My left breast seems to be normal. Can you tell me why I am only getting these cycts in one breast, and not the other? If I have a fiborcyctic breast I would think that I would have this in both breast. I hope you can help me to understand this.

Dear Carian, Without more information to be more specific the answer is regarding cysts in general.  Women who are developing cysts may have higher estrogen levels causing them, if postmenopausal, HRT (hormone replacement therapy) can certainly cause them.  Some comfort measures that women find helpful if there is pain or discomfort associated with the cysts are a supportive bra (to provide support for the ligament that suspend your breasts), application of warm or cold packs, over-the-counter pain relievers
