Strange Pulse

Strange Pulse

OK, so I haven't been feeling right for a little bit now, have been on doxycycline for a few days now for a UTI, am male, 43 and have had these three pulse readings over the last two days, and in this order.  Otherwise healthy except for being 5 lbs overweight and a smoker.

Systolic, Diastolic, Pulse Pressure (difference), and Heart rate.

110    83   27    90
157   98    59    104
127   87    40    105

So should I be really freaking out and bringing this to someone's attention immediately, or within a few weeks, or just try to change my diet and exercise more.

Particularly wondering about the yoyo of readings in the pulse pressure collumn.

Thanks,

Hello
Your serial and isolated blood pressures suggest borderline diastolic hypertension. It should be followed up especially if you had elevated BPs in the past. I dont know what your family history is and if there is cardiovascular risks. Obviously, you know that there is nothing healthy about smoking inlcuding your increased risk of heart attack, stroke, limb amputation and alzheimers. I would plan on following up your PCP to have your bp checked and have a heart to heart conversation regarding smoking cessation, weight reduction and a stuctured exercise program

these outlying bp values may be nothing to worry about. Only your pcp will know  what the trend is

Use the scare as motivation to make some life changes for the better
Good Luck
