HELP! DIL was told not to touch her baby after a vq test!?

Has anyone ever heard of this!? My DIL just gave birth on September 9th, the baby is a little over a month old. She went in for a check up, (DIL) and was told she needed to go for some testing, doc said she may have a blood clot in her lungs. She went to the hospital for a chest x-ray and a vq test, and when she was in the middle of the test a tech told her that she couldn't touch her baby AT ALL for 48 hours! She said they even made her sign something saying that she wasn't breastfeeding, and wouldn't touch the baby for two days. She said they told her the baby could loose his hair and also his internal organs could fail due to the amount of radiation that they gave her!? I checked on line about this and couldn't find anything. Has anyone heard of this!?!

Hi, I am in the radiology dept.-currently a student. From what I've learned, the VQ test involves inhaling and IV injections of radioactive substances(called contrast). These substances can be dangerous to a growing baby and affect the body cells.
