Low DLCO 7.2 (26% of Ref) and FVC 2.33 (60% of Ref)

I have a very close relative who is a senior (73 or 74) and was dignosed with IPF 3 years ago. A few months ago, his conditions worsens. The recent lung function test shows Low DLCO 7.2 (26% of Ref) and FVC 2.33 (60% of Ref).

However, what amazes me is that he still feels very good (even though he was put on oxygen 2 months ago).

Does this mean his illness has become very serious and this is the end of his life?

Depending on the health of the individual other than the copd, they can remain in a severe stage indefinately. Hope this helps
