BURNING UNDER RIBS

BURNING UNDER RIBS

Hello, I have had ulcerative colitis ffor 12 years or so. Large polyps and last colonoscopy about 6 years ago. One year after diagnoses of colitis I had scope to stomach and had gastritis.{no ulcer, stomach just very inflammed} on protonix.I have had no colon problems since my daughter was born 5 years ago.{thankfully}  Recently diagnosed with pituitary tumor, They are just watching it. I started having weird twitching under my left ribs, then it became painful after a month or so.I am having a ton of gas and belching and protonix is not helping. Pain is very different than the bouts of gastritis I am used to. It burns like crazy and I am running low grade fever all the time. Feel totally run down and tired after very little exertion. Could my pancreas cause this problem? I am aware of l link between pancreatic cancer and pituitary cancer. Has my colon finally decided to go south? I haven't had problems for years....I have had abdominal ultra sound and galll bladder is fine.....I have alot of problems all over it seems. fibromyalgia, kidney stones, endometreosis, colitis, gastritis....it even felt like my veins in my arms and hands were burning....please help....Jen

Hi,
Since you have burning pain on the abdomen and as well as on the arms and hands, nerve pain is more likely . Consult a neurologist for evaluation.
Regarding the increased gas and belching, have an endoscopy done and also test for H.pylori infection.
Sometimes tolerance develops to PPI over a period of time. So you can discuss with your doctor regarding changing to another PPI.
