Ulcerative Colitis and Bleeding
I've recently had a flare up and my medicine, Pentasa, doesn't seem to be stopping the bleeding. Is there something else, besides steroids, that's effective in eliminating the bleeding?

Hi Cherub262,
5 -ASA group of drugs and steroids are the mainstay in the treatment of ulcerative colitis. If the symptoms are not controlled with these drugs or if you develop  side effects you may consider the second line medications like immunomodulator drugs and biologic therapy.

Discuss with your gastro about these options.
