Ceramic inlay

I had 2 ceramic inlays put in about a month ago.  Over time, I have noticed a "click" or "ticking vibration" in one of them when I drink anything cold.  The sensation also happens when switching from hot to cold foods.  Is this normal?  It leads me to believe that there is room for expansion/contraction to occur.  What should I do?

It sure sounds like there is unfilled space there between the inlay and the tooth.. I would present to the dentist and let him/her know . This may not show on x-ray, so I would keep a close eye on this.. it should be replaced in short if this persist.

I would also have the dentist take close up PHOTOGRAPHS of this restoration and evaluate it on a big screen computer. Sometimes simply looking in the mouth would not show the small things and bigger magnification is needed. A highly trained dentist would have access to a good Camera and will be able to find the problem generally if there is one. If not, then this will document what things look like now, and you can have the same thing done in a few months to track and see if there is any change or deterioration.
