Inlays/composite fillings

by Patien1, Oct 02, 2009 03:41PM
I had tooth colored composite fillings done in between my teeth...12 OD and 13 MOD. My dentist told me I have really close contacts between those teeth. Whenever I flossed with the "rope" kind of floss it shredded(he fixed that). Then about 3weeks later , the filling on tooth 12 came loose and dentist took it out. Now, I am left with a hole in my tooth and dentist tells me I need porcelain inlays on teeth 12 OD and 13 MOD. Is this necessary? Should I go to another dentist and see if he can put in a composite filling without a problem? Inlays are really expensive...

The filling on tooth 12 was in for about month by the way, and I am not sure what exactly caused the filling to become loose. Dentist is telling me contacts between teeth are too close...

Consultation with another restorative dentist is advised.
