My 8 Year old has lost half his baby teeth only 4 came in?

My son has lost about half of his teeth. It just started right before he turned 8 last year. He has only had about 4 grow in. He lost 4 top teeth only the first front tooth came in. He went to the dentist when the first was wiggly. Took xrays Dentist did not seem concerned. But, now it has been about 4 or 5 months and he is losing more and none appear to even want to come in? His two bottom teeth are fine they are adult teeth? Can anyone help or suggest anything so I may not be too concerned?

It could be just time before these teeth come in. But also it could be that he is missing these teeth or they could be growing in the wrong position. Either way, this is a great question to ask his pedodontist http://www.top3dentists.com/pages/pedodontal . And making sure they are taking the proper xrays for him as well and are not taking just a couple of bitewing xrays, which would not show the front teeth and most often even the back permanent ones as they are growing in.
