tooth extraction

by erthelf, Jul 06, 2009 10:51AM
I had a molar extracted 5 days ago.  Since then i have experienced a throbbing, cutting pain. My swollen cheek has gone down as well as some of the swelling in the site.  A blood clot formed on the 2nd day.  I have been taking Myprodol (paracetamol, ibuprofen, codeine).  There is no infection and the area seems to be healing well, excepting that i am still in the same amount of pain!

Is it ok that i am still in so much pain?

sometimes it takes time for an extraction site to heal, so this could be normal, unless you have infection and problems on other teeth or in your gums. And in this case you would need to have a thorough examination first.
