valproic acid and elevated liver enzymes

Last week I was pulled over by the police because I was "driving like an elderly person" and my plates showed I wasn't elderly.  My blood alcohol content (which I gladly blew because I wasn't drinking) was over the legal limit.

I don't understand how this could happen.  I received a call the next day from the doctor that due to the valproic acid my liver enzymes were running very high.

Does anyone know if this could show a false positive on a bac?

i don't know about the false positive part but i know that valproic acid can play around with your liver, that's why they should test your blood every couple of months to ensure that it's still ok. did you have anything to drink recently? maybe your liver isn't working properly so it hasn't cleared yourr system yet, that's just a thought...
