Frozen Feet, and Hammer Toes

I obtained frostbite to both feet in 1984. Afterwards my toes started going into the hammer toe position. I had no problems with my toes until then. Could it be Peripheral Neuropthy from the frostbite injury the caused the hammer toes?

you have flexor substitution:  your flexor muscles/tendons (which make your toe curls) are much stronger than your extensor muscles/tendons (which make you extend the toes).
i think this is coincidental.
this is a very common aging phenomena.  wearing supportive shoes can help, but there is nothing more that can be done to keep them straight...except fusing all the toes surgically straight (which i don't recommend unless they are painful).
