HSV-2 IN CHILDREN SYMPTONS?

Hello,

I'm currently been dianosised with HSV2 for about 3 years now.my 2 1/2 years old son has been having server itching in his crouch area. not just a little bit,but almost everyday,for the last couple of momths he would grab his crouch & scratch.i've tryed to stay away from changing diapers  when i have a outbreak, but i might've taken a bath with him once when i did have a outbreak or at the end of one.i checked out his genital area frequently but have seen no sign of liasions,etc.but having  HSV2 i know how hard it is to spot one.but you still have the itch or ain even if the liason is below the surface!!usaully i would have my wife take a bath wwith him when i did have a outbreak.she has not  had a symptoms or tested for herpes.she was also given Acyclovir during her pregnancy,just in case.i just need to know...i currently have a appointment with my sons doctor.i'm in the milatary stationed overseas.n my wife (& i are both a little jaded with med care in our area (japan)n its its just a little hard to go out in town for a second opion.so i thought i'd ask you.Any help you could provide would be greatly appreciated.

HSV2 is an STD ( sexually transmitted disease ) whatever is causing your son to itch it's not Herpes
Have you taken him to a Doctor he may be allergic to something like diapers or creams he may even have a UTI you need to see a doctor as this will certainly be distressing for your little boy and you as a parent have a responsibility to see to his wellbeing and comfort ..... never try to self diagnose where young children are concerned.
