Finally, after 20 years on being HSV positive, I have recently done serological testing to verify what I alreadly knew..but now have a few questions regarding these results.
Results were HSV1 Positive 5.66 and HSV2 Positvie 2.41.
I am not sure if there is any significant factors in these numbers. If you are positive, your positive right?
However, I have seen many different titer results varying from 1.0 - 10.0. My questions are:
1) Is the number higher when the infection is first aqquired? Does it go down with time?
2) Does the titer result have anything to do with how much virus is actually present?
3) I am taking Valtrex 500mg 1 daily. Does this affect these numbers?
4) Having a higher titer 10.0 vs. 2.0 does that mean you are more contagious or you have more of the virus?
