iticulitis?

I had surgery in 99 for adhesions, they had cut off my colon and put me is serious condition before the dr figured out the problem. I was told that the adhesions would grow back again. last week I had sharp pains in the same area as before and spent the day at the ER, a cat scan was done and I was told it wasnt adhesions yet but I had iticulits. I may not be spelling that correctly but I don't know what it is and they and they had given me pain medicine there and I was kind of out of it and dint ask what it was. I was told to f/u with my family doctor if the pain came back.  so my question is exactly what is iticulitis? thanks for your help.
