ALL!!!!!!
They listened! They heard us! Woo hoo!!!!!!!!!!!
Sorry to be such a hammer (ok, really I'm no so sorry, hahah)! But, Thank you, MH! All the fixes were desperately needed!

be sure to see Emily's response today - most of the problems told to MH appear to have been addressed.
Shell, thanks for being the conduit in relaying all these concerns. I'm with you and trust they will address these concerns soon.
If you've been able to find those quick keys in "Applications" you'll find them when you go to our HPs.
I've sent word to their location being out of sort.
DB and Sho -
I sent all our feedback to MH. And, hopefully they look at this discussion incase there is something new added.
One I see so far is the HPs were moved up. But, still so much white space to the left.
I tried to stress priority to them. Adding discussion to the front page, along with 1st sentence, and some other things are high priority. I admit, I'm disappointed some instant changes have not been made. So, I'll inquire again today.

I used to get this new layout intermittently for some reason and always disliked it. I hope they do act on the feedback. The worst thing fore me seems to be that there's so much less info--fewer posts, shorter list of names of posters, no initial sentence.
As far as the ads go, MedHelp probably won't like this, but if you use Firefox or Chrome (and maybe others) you can get an extension that will suppress all the ads. I haven't seen ads in years. I use AdBlock Plus. Just google it.

Just spent a little more time going through this new format. Hate it!! I think all the thinkgs I hate about it have been covered above. Should I still send MH my feedback?
Sorry I'm late to post this but the moving advertising at the top and side of the posts is distracting and is something that sets off a migraine and blurry vision as it is hard for to see certain areas of my visual field without causing the above issue.
Thanks for listening.

All -
I cut and organized a bit out collective suggestions and sent the ALL to our community manager.
Keep your fingers crossed, and keep an eye out - hopefully things will start looking up.
Thank you all so very much for taking the time to put your thoughts to words for the cause!

I hadn't gotten around to seeing or reading this. I'm glad I did now and don't mind at all that the rest of you covered so many of the sticking points I've noticed.
Right now this page has the familiar blue hue that is easier on my eyes. I see if it's just this page when I switch. If it's a return to blue by popular demand-Thank You.
If those changes Emily is talking about come to pass it should make things easier and a bit more familiar. Otherwise, I suppose if I have to adjust to using those new light bulbs by next year I can adjust to some changes here too. Can't risk being told I'm too old to change.
I also just discovered the option menu (labeled as Forum Settings) on the front page (where threads are listed). Mine had been set to sort threads by 'Date Started'. When I switched it to 'Last Post' I found it felt more familiar and it's easier to follow conversations in progress.
Can't think of anything new. Thanks Shelly for starting this. Looks like it's been helpful.

I have to agree with practically everything said here....I don't like this new layout. The welcom messages are not visible, you can't get a feel of the disussion threads....I just don't like the layout!! As fortywhat2 (Debbie) said, MS is confusing enough to have other confusing things in the mix.
Change is good but I would love to go back to the old view or modify this new one a bit more to make thigs a bit more accessible, easy to to connect and read through.

Thanks for letting us know. I'm checking on it for you.
Em
Thanks for asking -- today is the same -- pages still sloooow.
Hi MsinFl -
Are things better today with the speed? I'll check into that for you.
Emily
THIS SUX.... plain and simple! MS is confusing enough without having new things thrown into the mix! Stop changing things.
Debbie
Hi again--
I also have to say that the pages are taking MUCH longer to load than before. I suspect it's because of all the graphics (pictures, special effects, etc).
This is really maddening -- by the time I actually can unfreeze my screen & scroll down to see what's new, I've lost interest, it's so slow.
I'm pretty sure there's nothing you can do to fix this, but maybe your engineers are super-creative & can speed things up. Hoping.
Ufrustrated2, let us know what you are thinking, ok? It is definitely different. MH is collecting our thoughts and may act on some of them.
Hey, Emily! The drop down menus have been a problem since they were first put in, but there wasn't much else to complain about (aside from the flashing adverts) so I didn't worry about it. But with the flashing adverts, the drop down menus, and the weird new layout, it's very hard to focus on what I want to look at. I think if the menu didn't pop up unless you clicked on the button, it would be easier on the eyes.
Edit feature would be awesome! Some of us have some cognitive issues and it would be nice to fix our issues after posting.
Hi there -
Just got an update from Engineering and Development. We have no timelines yet for these changes, as the work is just starting, but keep in mind some are very complicated.
Our highest priority changes are:
* There will be a preview of each thread, with a couple of lines showing in the main thread listing. (We have already shared this one.)
* More responses will show in the thread list, so instead of showing the most recent 2, it will show more.
* We will be increasing the number of threads per page in the thread list.
This is not likely the total list of changes, but this is what we know for sure now.
Emily
Hi there -
LOL oh yes, I can tell. :)
We have reported that to the engineers and developers, and it's probably one of the most requested changes we've heard, from across the site. I haven't heard anything about it yet, but promise to keep you all updated.
Em
In conjunction with adding the first few lines of each thread, it would be great if we could see more than 2 of the names of members who have responded (like we did before the recent change) --
I know many of us look specifically for a certain member's name (like Quix, Lulu, Cobob, etc) because of their track record of expertise, or because of an ongoing discussion within the thread.
Is that possible?
Can you tell how much we really, really miss the old layout?
Jen - there hasn't been any changes to the drop down menus we have at the top. Let me know if it remains to be a problem.
