AM I AT HIGHER RISK?
My mother died 10yrs ago from cervical cancer.  I have been having regular paps but am experiencing abdominal bloating and lower abdominal and back pain.  My cycle is all over the place and i am worried.

Hi there
as far as we know, cervical cancer does not run in the family. t is caused by a sexually transmitted virus called Human paillomavirus or HPV

Pap smears and HPV screening (after the age of 30 for HPV screening) is an effective screenigtest for cervical cancer
best wishes
