Hi, I have a history of Dermoid Cysts and PCOS and obviously infertility - i had surgery to remove a 13cm and 15cm dermoid cyst from each ovary in 2003 (10 years ago - i was 25). I have since had another dermoid cyst on my left ovary which was removed via keyhole surgery in 2007 (when i was 29). Now my husband and i are preparing for IVF as i dont ovulate with my PCOS and I had a pelvic Ultrasound which has now found:
'The known left ovarian cyst measures 98 x 70 x 67mm with an estimated volume of 241cc. It has some thin internal septa, but no neural nodule or other appreciable soft tissue content. The dimensions of the ovary are estimated at 106 x 79 x 87mm, estimated volume 379cc.
No Free Fluid in the pelvis.
-Large, partly septated, left ovarien cyst.
- Overall dimensions of the left ovary suggest a significan soft tissue component and CT is reommended for further evaluation.'
Can you give me any idea whether you think this could possibly be another dermoid cyst - or do i have The Big C ?? (i realise it is impossible for you to answer that last question) - as you can imagine though i am driving myself crazy and i dont see my RE till the 28th March.
Not only that - where does this leave me for IVF ?? I am thinking i will need more surgery AGAIN. I am really just over it and need some advise as i have been on this rollercoaster for 10 years and i am now 35 and desperate for a child but i am thinking its just not going to happen.
