cyst after menopause again........

by milliron, Nov 18, 2006 12:00AM
thank you for your reply...(CYST AFTER MENOPAUSE; posted earlier this week)Your question was about removal; the ovary that had the large septated cyst was removed along with the cyst.  the pathology came back OK.  it was all done laproscopically and the MD said he got a good look around.  This was just my regular OBGYN.
Is your reply to my first question you suggested the removal of the other ovary that now has a cyst (which appeared since i was told i was in menopause). Is this because you believe it will keep giving me problems. OR is there more of a chance that it can develop into some thing more serious, or rupture.  I have a 23year history of problems with cysts. Also do you believe  2 months too long to wait to have another ultrasound to recheck this.  thank you very much.   Robin

Hi Robin
Thank you for the additional information.
I would say that 2 months is not too long to wait if all else is stable.
Yes, I would lean towards removing an ovary with a cyst in it in someone with a history of problems with cysts. There is a good chance that this cyst will give you more problems.
best wishes
