Enlarged Thymus

I wanted to know what could be the repercussions of having an enlarged Thymus gland at the age of 16.  My son has quite a bit of bronchitis and the doctors say he has an larger-than-average thymus gland for his age, he is going to see a specialist in 2 days.  He acts fine, and seems to be normal, but what is the medical advice for this.

This may or may not have any relationship to the bronchitis. It is possible there is an airway compression, but unlikely,  Seeing the specialist is a good idea to get a good examination and perhaps more tests.
