I have had a problem cough for more than 10 years.  At various times I have been told I have brochitus, asthma, fibromyalgia, but none of the treatments have eased it.  The only thing that hashelped is antiseptic cough sweets which |i purchase from the pharmacy.  Any help with a proper diagnosis would be much appreciated

There are very many causes of chronic cough.  Too many to list, but the top 5 are postnasal drip, asthma, gastroesophageal reflux disease, chronic bronchitis, or angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitor medicine used to treat high blood pressure.  Your best bet is to find a cough clinic at your nearest university hospital and have the experts evaluate the cough.
