Skin Cancer?? Photo

hi there... i'm a 34 y/o mother of four - i have numerous moles all over my body but recently in a spot where my skin got irriated from a pimple.. a new mole/brown spot has developed.... it is small at this time and seems a bit sensitive/uncomfortable - i find it very odd that this has just appeared... when it first did, i actually rubbed it and thought it went away but it has come back.. it is definitely not a pimple or irritation, it is a pigmented area.... i've made an appointment with a dermatologist but it is not for 2 weeks and i'm hoping for some peace of mind until then.  can a mole just appear at this stage of my life?  are there other things it could be instead of skin cancer?  i also have two small moles on my nose that look pink and bumpy/irritated - very small moles - all of these are maybe 1/4 the size of a pencil eraser (even the one on my chin)... in addition i have found a brown mole that seems to have the characteristics of cancer on my arm except it is not irrated, red or uncomfortable in any way.
there is no melanoma in my family but my mother has had basal cell skin cancers and has many many black moles on her back... she is very fair and i am more of an olive tone but burn at times... sadly, i did use tanning beds a few times in my 20's...

I'd try to relax until your visit with the dermatologist. You're doing the right thing by getting checked, since it is new, but I do believe moles can begin to form on their own at any point. Doesn't mean it's cancer, but always safer just to get checked to be sure. Not sure if you've done it before, but it's very painless. Good luck.
