Core issue for using

Does anyone here know why they used in the first place?  can u go back and pinpoint the reason or was it just a vague void that needed to be filled...or a chronic pain thing that slipped up on u?...I identified my trigger after quitting...one major one...but i do see now that i feel lows that i do not like but it is de ja vu...i felt this way before and used pills to stay happy and on top of things...chronic pain...yes...but i will take responsibiltiy for abusing for the high and the happines it brought,,,getting alot done....chronic pain breeds depression tho so it is hard to know for sure which came first.....i wonder about my mental status before pills...where was i at exactly?

Pain started the ball rolling. Then, I thought I found the "fountain of youth".  I could work longer days, then come home, clean my house, weed the yard.  At first I did all this on only 2-3 pills a day.  I thought it was so great. Of course I wanted to share my new found "wonder women" pills, so I told my sister's about them and they got addicted also.    I should be shot !

Back in the good ol' 80's...my Dr. started giving me vics for migraines b/c they didnt know anything about them then.  I used them as directed and sometimes they worked sometimes it made em worse, but I was only like 12.  When I was around 15ish I had the addict's metality that if 1 worked I bet 4 would be better...and off I was.  In the late 90's the DEA reared its ugly head and my Dr, cut me off from unlimited refills to 0...and I didnt know what to do, then some I knew asked me if I've ever heard of oxyconting...having a headache that day I tried a 20 and I was in the stars.  Not trying to glorify it but I remember the taste and the feeling perfectly....even after 4 years clean I think of that day.....then I have to stop lol.  Good question

I can still remember the very very first time I used an opiate pain killer.  It was when I was 17yrs old and a supposed friend gave me just one 5mg vicodin, and I was like whatever man, since i take like 4-5 of everything over the counter.  WOW, it was like heaven in a pill!  I wanted to feel that way forever.. But then again that is what the first line of coke felt like too. and then you chase that damn feeling forever.. Anyway, that was my first time.
