Hi, for the last 8 months I've been suffering from the following symptoms: brain fog, fatigue, blurry vision, depressed mood, and muscle tension/weakness. I don't feel that classic anxiety symptom of the knotty feeling in my stomach or the constant sense of worry. Really I'm just baffled by the fog and that perpetuates my stress. I can't concentrate or focus at all. My life is full of work and all, but I don't consider it particularly stressful. Does this sounds like anxiety to you?
My doctor prescribed Zoloft, which I'm thinking about trying. I'm wary of meds but have tried other relaxation techniques to no avail. I also saw a homeopathic doc who chocked it all up to Candida and gave me anit fungals. I'm not sure what to think, but would like to hear from people who have had these symptoms and have successfully found the root of the problem. Thanks.
What you are experiencing are common symptoms for anxiety and/or depressive disorder.
Have you seen a psychiatrist? If not and you are unsure of the diagnosis then I suggest you make an appointment with one. They are the specialists with these type of disorders so go to those who treat it all the time. If you started getting chest pains you'd waste no time going to a cardiologist. If he gave you a pill to take, you'd take it without a second thought. Anxiety and depression are serious ailments that impact the body in significant ways, short and long term. They may subside or diminish on their own, but in the mean time they can take a heavy toll on your body and lifestyle.
Anti depessants saved my life and allowed me to live as normal a life possible that I would never have had without them. This may or may not be the case with you but you will never know unless you seek out the proper, competant help you need. Best of luck.
