Thank you both for the response and to answer you "My Young At Heart" I am a 34 year old single female with a 4 year old son. I recognize stress as a normal part of anyone's life, espceially with the decisions I have made...however obsessive thinking has been on me for as far back as I can remember, even before I had any real worries. I agree with the "people pleaser" scenerio as well because I tend to be the one everybody runs to with their problems, and I am regarded as "so strong." Do you think that by me being everyone else's shouldar that I have somehow become a control freak and the obsessive thinking is a bu product when things happen that I am not in control of? And if so, how do I let go and just relax??
It does seem to me that the majority of your thoughts have to do with how you reacted or could have reacted in a certain situation that did not end satisfactory for you. You do not say what your age is or how your personal life is in the social sense. I do agree with Paxiled that a few sessions with a therapist or a visit to your Medical Doctor might help soothe your mind to this particular obsession.
I am not a doctor nor a therapist with a degree, but in my own life I used to replay scenes from the day where I thought that I said or did the wrong thing to the wrong person at the wrong time, and spent alot of time trying to find alternative words, sentences, situations and make them better and more pleasing to the people who had already forgotten that I ever said the wrong thing. I started doing a lot of "People Pleasing" so that I would be liked and not thought of badly by people I made more important then I was.
I think it is important to tell yourself that you said or did the right thing at the time it happened and get some tools from your doctor or therapist to learn how to raise your self esteem and become comfortable in your own skin and mind.
Good luck to you....Please let us know how you are doing

Lots of people have obsessive thoughts. Have you seen a therapist for this? Might be time to learn some things about yourself and some relaxation techniques such as meditation, which can be helpful since it teaches how to quiet the mind.
